Who Are Your First Supporters?

DragonFlyEvery single time I post something on my blog or I write a guest article, my mom and my aunt are the first ones to like it. Neither of them speaks English and they usually use Google Translate to figure out what I’m writing about. Now if you’ve ever used Google Translate for entire texts, you know that the translation is flawed, more often than not, as it doesn’t render the nuances of certain words or phrases. Yet every time, without exception they will click Like.

What’s even more interesting is that they click Like even before they read it. When I asked my aunt one time why she clicks Like before reading it and without knowing if she will actually like what I wrote about, her answer was: “I have no doubt in my mind that I will like it so what’s the point in waiting until after I have read it to click Like.” Now think about that statement. She doesn’t need to read it, she doesn’t need to understand it perfectly; she just needs to know that I wrote it. That’s all. I don’t know how many of us are lucky enough to have people in our lives who are proud of us just for existing, but it seems I’m quite lucky. Some of them choose to be the first who click Like, others choose to share it either privately or publicly, others send me messages about it, and others just read it every time maybe without saying a word, yet coming back every time and learning something new.

So when you take a moment and look around, notice the people who hit Like in your life just because it’s you and more importantly who are the people that you’re willing to do that for. No holdbacks, no doubts, just knowing that you will always give and receive the best from them no matter what.
