“He’s different. I don’t know how to explain it, but I think he realizes what makes him happy and he’s choosing it. And that makes me happy. I think this is his moment.” – Meredith Grey, Grey’s Anatomy
Someone asked me the other day what makes me happy. My first instinct was to go into the list of people and things that make me happy, you know those people that put a smile on your face when you think of them, those accomplishments and those things that make you feel proud of your life here on this planet. As my face lit up with faces and moments that took my breath away and I happily and slowly went down memory lane in daydream world, I also thought about the moments and the people who made me sad, who brought unhappiness to my life at one time or another.
I realized that my happiness was so much more than people, places and things, my happiness was about choosing to have in my life the people who bring me happiness, choosing the adventures that make my heart skip a beat, and letting pass the ones who brought sadness and unhappiness or as Amelia mentioned in what you all know by now is my favorite all time show, Grey’s Anatomy, I was “willing to keep looking for light in the darkest of places without stopping even when it seems impossible.” And that’s what makes me happy every day!
If you look at your life right now, do you know what makes you happy? And more importantly do you have the courage to choose it unapologetically?
